Grob 109A I-KILC

This Grob 109A was built in 1982 and has very low airframe hours of only 1204 hours. The engine has only 147 hours since new from Limbach. The aircraft was owned from about 1984 by a wealthy Italian group near Milan and she was rarely flown which is consistent with its hours and condition. The maintenance throughout this time was conducted to public transport standard by a large approved maintenance organisation and all ADs are up to date. The aircraft has spats and some assorted spares which come with it. This aircraft is a VAT paid in Europe. The Grob 109a has an EASA type and this example has over 7 months ARC/Annual remaining when it next comes due on 19/06/2019. The aircraft also has a reserved German registration mark D-KBKK, however, it is currently I-KILC. This aircraft SN 6108 benefits from a brand new canopy which cost €4000, new harnesses costing €960, new 8.33Khz radio costing €1400 euro and a new battery.

In August 2018 this aircraft flew from Scandinavia to Ireland and is flying regularly.  Being composite the aircraft doesn’t suffer from corrosion, can be stored outside during summer/autumn. Wings come off for storage or trailer transport in about 20 minutes with two people. The aircraft is approved for use with Mogas and can offer such versatility as a 49 mpg cruise, or 105kts if in a hurry. It is possible to get 525nm range from the 80L tank. The glide ratio is 30:1 and you can hour build with the engine off! The TMG rating takes about 3hrs to add to your licence. In experienced hands, the Grob 109 can handle 25kts of wind. To those who are in the know on these matters, the 109A is a $50k+ dollar aeroplane in the USA and very sought after! Viewing ex Birr Airfield can be trailered on a custom trailer for convenience.
